Pontus-X Onboarding Requirements

The Pontus-X Ecosystem, as all of the X-ecosystems, requires all participants to be identified and uses Self-Sovereign Identities (SSI) as basis for an open identity ecosystem. Only legal persons can be part of the ecosystem and their identities will be validated during onboarding against official registers. The attributes for identification are based on the Gaia-X Trust Framework. The following attributes are requirement to successfully complete the onboarding.

Gaia-X Trust Framework & Compliance

The Gaia-X Trust Framework defines the minimum baseline to be part of any Gaia-X ecosystem. For reference check the latest Trust Framework version 22.10. All Gaia-X identities are accepted in the Pontus-X Ecosystem. We also support you creating your own.

Legal Name (and Domain)

Basis for the identification of a legal person a legal name is required. The name must match the name in official national and international registers. As example compare a LEI code reference. Please also add your website / domain for validation.

Registration Number

Valid and accepted registration numbers for the legal person are the European Unique Identifier (EUID), the Economic Operators Registration and Identification Number (EORI), the VAT identification number (vatID) or the unique LEI number (LEI Code).

Headquarter and Legal Address

Identification requires the physical location for the headquarters of the participant and the location of the headquarters as documented in the legal registration of the legal person. The desired format is ISO 3166-2, i.e. DE-HH for Germany, Hamburg.

Gaia-X Particpant Credentials

From these identity attributes a participant credential can be generated and we are happy to help you with it. If you already have your Gaia-X compliant identity, you can skip the former steps and directly provide us with it. We accept & support Gaia-X participant credentials.

Network Public Address

All participants in Pontus-X can be identified through their unique public network address controlled bya private key. Please share your public address to be added to the participant registry. If you don't have one, we help you generating one.

Onboarding Request

An onboarding request is submitted to the ecosystem and its participants.

Validation

Ecosystem participants, so called Trust Anchors, validate the provided information and identity and approve the request. All Gaia-X Trust Anchors are accepted in additional to Pontus-X Trust Anchors.

Pontus-X Participant Registry

Once a request and the identity has been validated the participant will be added to the Pontus-X Ecosystem Registry.

Ready to start!

Once a request has been accepted and the participant has been added and can acquire network tokens from the Pontus-X faucet.

Gaia-X Wizard

The Gaia-X Trust Framework is the set of rules that define the minimum baseline to be part of the Gaia-X Ecosystem. The Gaia-X Wizard allows you to create the Verifiable Credentials and Presentations for your participant, services, and resources you need for semantic interoperability across X-ecosystems.

Credentials are signed with your private keys and make use of your Decentralized Identitfier (DID). Gaia-X currently supports DID:WEB.

Gaia-X Digital Clearing Houses (GXDCH)

The Gaia-X Digital Clearing Houses (GXDCH) are the place to go to get verified against Gaia-X rules and minimum requirements in an automated way.

The GXDCH provide free basic compliance, registry and notary services to all X-ecosystem participants and can be reached through the Gaia-X Wizard, the Swagger UIs and the APIs for automation.
